The Truman Show

We are created with a natural inquisitiveness and desire to know the truth. The truth is that the human race has believed a lie and is under the dominion of a pretend god.We need to be rescued, and find the real God. In the movie, Truman’s Saviour is a former cast member who loves him and tells him the truth. In the movie, Truman had a lovely wife, but did not love him. In the wedding picture, Truman figured out that she was crossing her fingers during the whole marriage. Sylvia who was his true love, however got kicked out of the show, which means she sacrificed her for the truth. In the gospel, a Saviour  has come into this world to tell us the truth and lead us to freedom. We need to trust this Saviour whose love for us is 100% real.

As a christian point of view, Christof is like satan by various ways. He tries to tempt him, give him false testimonies, and he tries to be God when he really can’t no matter how hard he tries. Also, human race is very similar to Truman. We follow what we believe in, we are always in temptation, and we all need a savior, just like Truman needed somebody to tell the truth. Our salvation is also very similar to Truman’s. We know that we are lost and  we know that the truth will set us free.

Jesus came from the other world, caused us to seek him and find him just like Sylvia came from  the other world to tell Truman the truth.

As Jesus said, ‘ you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.’
